Mike Eichler is a lecturer in the School of Social Work at SDSU, Executive Director of the COC, and creator of the Consensus Organizing Model.  He holds a Master's degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh and has been involved in community organizing for over 30 years.  Mike is a former President of the Consensus Organizing Institute, a leading non-profit in the field of community organizing.  Mike founded the COC at SDSU in 1999 and has an active role in the management of all its programs.

Jessica Robinson is Assistant Director of the Consensus Organizing Center at San Diego State University (SDSU) where she is also is a lecturer in the School of Social Work. In addition to her work at SDSU Mrs. Robinson is a lecturer at the University of San Diego’s Nonprofit Leadership and Management Masters Program. Mrs. Robinson was trained in Consensus Organizing by Michael Eichler, creator of the model, and chosen by him to spearhead the work of his organizing center. She has more than 10 years experience in administration, program development, and grant writing for programs involving at risk and underserved populations. Mrs. Robinson is best known for her work with foster youth and, specifically, for her role in developing and operating a specialized high school graduation and post-secondary education program for foster youth. A San Diego native, Mrs. Robinson earned both her Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Master's in Administrative Social Work from San Diego State University.

Jen Henry, MSW came to San Diego in 1999 to obtain her Bachelors in Social Work from San Diego State University (SDSU). Throughout her undergraduate program and various internships Jen realized her passion for working with communities. Upon graduation, Jen was accepted into the Price Community Builder Fellowship Program with the Consensus Organizing Center and worked in City Heights before returning for her Master's degree in Administrative Social Work at SDSU. Jen has been affiliated with the Consensus Organizing Center since 2004 and currently manages all aspects of The Step-Up Program, including the annual Hervey Family Fund at the San Diego Foundation scholarship for Step-Up alumni. Additionally, Jen lectures in the School of Social Work at SDSU and is very active in various professional organizations, such as the National Association of Social Workers and Mid-City Community Advocacy Network.

Jennifer Martinez earned both her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Social Work, with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential, at San Diego State University (SDSU). During her final year of undergraduate school Jennifer applied to the Price Community Builder Program and was selected. This competitive program provided the opportunity to gain hands-on administrative social work experience in the City Heights community and a generous scholarship for graduate school at SDSU. Throughout Jennifer's undergraduate and graduate years, she gained countless experiences working with foster, inner-city, and at-risk youth and promoting parental involvement in education. Currently, she is a program manager at the Consensus Organizing Center, where she helps foster youth achieve higher education and successfully transition into adulthood and college life. In addition, Jennifer is a lecturer in the School of Social Work at SDSU.

Drew Lautemann received his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in April 2009 and his Master of Laws degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in August 2010. A native of Woodson, Illinois, Drew moved to San Diego to study law after his undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Drew began as an intern with the Consensus Organizing Center in 2008, and since then he created Legal Path and A.I.M. for Law, two programs to educate first-generation and inner-city students about the legal profession and motivate them to pursue careers in the law. In addition to working at the Consensus Organizing Center, Drew manages his solo law practice, where he focuses primarily on immigration law, and teaches Community Organizing and Advanced Legal Analysis at California Western School of Law.

Laura Cohen completed her undergraduate studies at California State University, Chico. Upon her graduation, Laura worked for Special Olympics Northern California for several years as a sports manager where she coordinated recreational activities for individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities and trained and managed volunteer coaches. A native of San Diego, Laura returned to her hometown to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work from San Diego State University. Laura started as an intern at the Consensus Organizing Center in 2010, and graduated as part of the first cohort of the Administration/Community Development track in the MSW program. Currently, Laura is involved with various community efforts and is in the process of developing the San Diego Library Project, a program created from Laura’s internship with the Center.
