Victoria Dumon

Victoria Dumon

received her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2013 from University of California, Riverside. She is currently in her last year of SDSU’s 4-year MSW program while working at the Regional Task Force on the Homeless. After completing her degree, she hopes to continue working to improve the homeless services system for clients experiencing homelessness in San Diego. Victoria will be interning this academic year with the SDSU Police Department through the Consensus Organizing Center, which will be their first MSW intern. Victoria will be evaluating, developing and implementing different police responses such as the SDSU PD’s homelessness response, mental health response, threat management response, as well as other various community safety initiatives.

Sarah Feteih

Sarah Feteih

received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego in 2016, with a double major in Cognitive Science and Human Development. She is currently in the second and final year of the MSW program in the Administration and Community Development concentration, and serves as the treasurer for the Macro Social Work Student Organization. Sarah will be interning with the Economic Crisis Response Team (ECRT) at SDSU, a campus initiative created to address student food and housing insecurity. In her role, Sarah will be evaluating the program’s effectiveness, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing sustainable changes through cross-campus partnerships.

Lauren Holt

Lauren Holt

is a San Diego native, currently in her final year of the MSW program at San Diego State. Studying administration and community development, she is interning at the Copley-Price YMCA in a dual role – both in the Development Department assisting with fundraising activities, and facilitating programs in the Teen Center. Having worked in the non-profit sector professionally for the last five years, Lauren is looking forward to her studies and prior experience culminating in this final internship year in the City Heights community. As someone who envisions a career working with children and families, Lauren is excited to join the Consensus Organizing Center team and contribute to the development of our local San Diego communities.

John Kennon

John Kennon

is currently in his senior year at SDSU and majoring in Social Work. This year, John will be interning at the Consensus Organizing Center’s Step Up Program. His duties will consist of assisting with the planning and recruitment in the Step Up program as well as functioning as a teaching assistant and helping with senior college workshops. Furthermore, John will be following up with the alumni in the Rise Up program, updating files and data, and taking part in fundraising. Specifically, he will be planning the Cheers to Education event, assisting with grant writing, and conducting grant research.

Melanie Mashburn

Melanie Mashburn

received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2012 from Pennsylvania State University. During her time at Penn State, she studied psychology and was inducted into Psi Chi, the International Honors Society in Psychology. She is currently in her last year of the 4-year MSW Admin/Community Development Program. After completing her degree, she hopes to continue working with low-income high school and university students and empower them to recognize their full potential in the community. Melanie will be interning with the Consensus Organizing Center’s Step Up Program and her responsibilities will include recruiting and mentoring participants of the program, recruiting teaching assistants, following up with students through completion of the program and managing the daily tasks of the program.
